As this is an early beta release, not everything may function flawlessly right away. Our team will be actively monitoring the system from the moment it launches, quickly addressing issues as they arise. The numbers, timings, and logic behind kills and comas are not final; they may be refined based on your feedback and the results of the test. This marks the beginning of a system we intend to build together into something everyone enjoys and feels proud of.
A Deeper and More Impactful Coma System
The updated coma system introduces meaningful consequences and strategic depth:
- A coma lasts 12 hours, followed by
- 24 hours of recovery, and
- 72 hours of kill protection
These timers begin the moment a player loses consciousness. During recovery, severity decreases every 15 minutes, influencing various gameplay statistics.
Limitations During Unconsciousness (12 Hours)
While in a coma, players cannot perform actions. Social features, like chatting and messaging, remain accessible. Having friends nearby provides protection, reducing the chances of robberies in the hospital or at your accommodation.
During unconsciousness, keep in mind:
- Your accommodation can be robbed, resulting in loss of stored items.
- Hospital robberies can cause you to lose the items you're carrying.
- Friends online in the same city actively reduce robbery attempts.
- Your spots become easier to attack, even if you're holding them for someone else.
- Your respect temporarily decreases while unconscious.
- Your street muscles remain active but function extremely slowly without leadership.
Recovery Phase (24 Hours)
After waking from a coma, players enter a vulnerable recovery period:
- Success rates may be lower.
- Cooldowns may increase by up to 50%.
- Incoming damage may rise by up to 35%.
- Additional health cannot be purchased during recovery.
- Damage taken from activities such as crew jobs or spot actions can be fatal proceed with caution.
- Your respect temporarily decreases during this phase as well.
Murder Mechanics
If your health hits 0%, the game reviews the last 168 hours to determine how many times you entered a coma during that window. Each rank category has a maximum number of allowed comas. Exceeding that threshold results in permadeath, after which you can use the revenge system to rebuild stronger.
Coma Limits per 168 Hours
- Nobody to Snatcher: 3 comas
- Scammer to Wiseguy: 2 comas
- Above Wiseguy: 1 coma
Revenge System Improvements
The revenge system has been enhanced. Work experience will now play a role when rebuilding your account after permadeath, giving returning players more meaningful progression.
Impact on Families
If your family's top leadership, Don, Consigliere, and Sottocapo, are all in a coma simultaneously, the entire family suffers:
- Attack bonuses become inactive
- Defensive bonuses are disabled
- Salaries are no longer paid
A Long-Awaited Step Forward
