Key strengths of Jail
- Public city jail lists let you bail or bust out players and even jailed street muscle
- Sentence length and bribe price scale with rank and remaining jail time
- Breakouts build a dedicated jailbusting skill with rank progression and caught-risk
- Isolation, cell attacks and FBI investigations keep jail dangerous instead of idle
Pentito turns jail into a live city board
The jail page shows who is currently locked up in your city, and it is not limited to your own character. You can browse prisoners, sort them, spot friends, see remaining time and decide whether somebody deserves a paid bail, a breakout attempt or a longer stay behind bars.
Pentito also applies this system to more than just players. Street muscle can be jailed too, which means jail pressure reaches beyond one character and can hit the wider setup around them.
Freedom has several routes, and each one plays differently
Pentito separates bail from busting. Bailing someone out costs money based on their rank points, while breakout attempts run on a base success chance and can be improved with tools like a Special Lockpick. Successful busts raise your jailbusting skill and move you up a separate jailbusting rank ladder.
There is also self-breakout, but it is not available from the start. You need at least 41 busts before you can even try it, which makes escaping your own sentence something experienced players work toward rather than a button everyone gets for free.
Failure inside jail can get worse before it gets better
Jail in Pentito is not just waiting. Failed bribes can put you in isolation, failed breakouts can land you in a fresh sentence, and the chance of being caught only shrinks gradually as your jailbusting skill grows. Isolation also blocks actions that would otherwise let you keep pushing while locked up.
If the sentence escalates, the FBI can step in with a 24-hour investigation. At that point the jail flow changes completely: bribes can be blocked, you may be forced to choose between talking, refusing or paying a heavy release fee, and even staying silent can still cost health or money.
Jail Frequently Asked Questions
You serve a timed sentence in your current city, can be bailed or busted out, and in heavier situations may also trigger an FBI investigation. Jail is handled as an active game state, not just a passive countdown.
Breakouts use a base success chance, can be improved with a Special Lockpick and raise your jailbusting skill when they succeed. Failed attempts can still end in capture, isolation or a fresh sentence depending on the result.
Yes. Pentito lets jailed players bribe, attempt a self-breakout once they have enough busts, attack nearby cellmates for cash and deal with FBI interrogation if the case escalates. Jail stays interactive even when you are the one inside.
