Heist

This is not some back-alley mugging. A heist is a full operation: crew, car, guns, timing, and nerves of steel. This page decides what part of the job you see and what you are allowed to do.

If you are too low rank, the game tells you straight. You are still just a rookie, and the crew will not trust you on a serious score until you reach the required rank. No arguing with that. Climb first, steal later.

If you recently finished a heist, you also get benched. When your last job just wrapped up, the page shows that you are still catching your breath, with a timer counting down. Until that clock hits zero, there is no planning a new job, no matter how itchy your fingers are.

Once you are cleared for action, the page looks at your status and your role and then drops you into one of several phases.

Roles and flow
Every heist runs on two main roles: driver and shooter.

The driver is the wheelman. He brings the car, picks the route, and gets everyone out alive if things go sideways. If you are the driver, you will see setup screens to accept or refuse an invite, pick the car, and confirm that the ride is ready.

The shooter is the one holding the iron. If you are the shooter, the game checks your weapon and bullets. No gun, no ammo, no job. The page will not move into the ready state until you have both a proper weapon and enough bullets to make some noise.

Depending on where you are in the chain, the page loads a different setup:

  • Not in any heist: you get the screen to start or join a job when that becomes possible.
  • Invited as driver: you see a driver invite view where you accept or walk away.
  • Accepted as driver: you go into driver setup, picking and locking in your car.
  • Shooter but gear not ready or car not selected: you land in a prep view to fix both.
  • Heist in progress with all gear and car ready: you see the leader setup view, where final checks and decisions happen.
  • Heist accepted and fully prepared: you move into a ready state, waiting for the job to go off.

If the job succeeded or failed and finished recently, the page switches into aftermath mode for a couple of hours. During that time you get told to rest up and you see a countdown until you are allowed to run another job.

Driver and car
For the driver, the car is everything. The page pulls in details about the current driver and their ride if there is one:

  • The driver’s name
  • The specific car they brought
  • Its speed and damage
  • The car’s image

If the car reads as “None selected”, the job is not fully prepped yet. The shooter cannot finish preparations and the crew cannot move into the ready stage until a car is locked in.

Shooter and weapons
For the shooter, the game looks at:

  • Which weapon is selected
  • How many bullets are assigned

If the weapon shows as “None selected” or the bullet count is empty, the system treats the job as incomplete. You stay stuck in a setup state until the shooter picks a weapon and loads enough ammunition.

Only when both roles did their homework, car ready, weapon ready, bullets set, does the operation move into the fully ready state.

Heist results
When a heist completes, your status flips to completed or failed. If the result pops up as a modal, you see a dedicated finish screen with the outcome and rewards or consequences.

After that, for about two hours, you are locked out from starting another job. The game shows a timer for when you can go back to planning. This keeps you from chain-running big heists back-to-back like a maniac.

FAQ

Why can’t I join or start a heist?
There are a few common reasons:

  • Your rank is still too low for heists.
  • You just finished a heist in the last couple of hours and are on cooldown.
  • Your current status is already inside another heist flow.

Check the message at the top of the page; it usually tells you whether this is about rank, cooldown, or your current job state.

What does “You need to reach a higher rank” actually mean?
Heists are not for beginners. Until you reach the required rank shown in the warning, crews will not take you seriously. Hit that rank first, then come back to this page and the block will be gone.

Why does it say I am still catching my breath?
That message appears when you recently finished a heist, successful or not. The game gives you a fixed cooldown window from the time your last job ended. During that window, you see a countdown and you cannot start a new heist.

Why do I see a different screen than my friends?
Because the page reacts to your role and status.
Examples:

  • Not in a heist: you see an invitation or planning view.
  • Invited driver: you see a driver invite screen.
  • Confirmed driver: you see car setup.
  • Shooter with missing gear: you see a prep screen asking you to fix weapon and bullets.
  • All gear ready: you see a leader or ready view.
Everyone in the same job can be looking at different phases depending on what they still have to do.

Why does it say the shooter’s weapon or bullets are missing?
The shooter must pick a weapon and assign bullets before the heist can be considered ready. If the system still sees “None selected” as weapon or a blank bullet count, the job is stuck in setup. The shooter needs to open their setup screen and fix both.

Why does the car show “None selected”?
That means the driver did not lock in a car yet. Without a proper getaway car, the heist cannot be fully prepared. The driver has to go into their setup view and select one of their vehicles.

Why do I sometimes see a special result screen?
When a heist finishes with certain outcomes, the game can pop a dedicated finish screen with details of the success or failure. That result view comes from a separate template and is only shown when there is a recent heist result for you.

What happens if I leave and come back later?
When you return to the page, the system checks your last known heist status and drops you back into the correct view. If your last job finished recently, you will see the cooldown countdown instead of planning options until your timer runs out.
