This is where you stop window-shopping and start boosting chrome.
On this page you see a set of car theft cards. Each card is a different stunt: swapping plates at the mayor’s fundraiser, stealing during a downtown fire, lifting a gang member’s ride in a bar brawl, taking a car straight off the showroom floor, snatching a winner’s car at a dice game, or pinching one outside a greasy late-night diner.
Every card shows a percentage. That number is your current success chance for that specific car theft. Higher percentage = safer steal. Lower percentage = spicy, noisy, and risky. The option with your best odds gets a soft glow around it, but that’s just the game whispering “this one’s smart.” You can still pick the crazy one if you’re feeling brave.
When you click ‘Go For It!’, you’re committing to that exact job. The system rolls the outcome based on your chance:
If you’re on cooldown, all cards are still visible but they’re washed out and can’t be clicked. Same story if you’re locked out for other reasons (like jail/isolation handled elsewhere). Cooldown is your forced breather: you just tried a job, now the city needs a moment to calm down before you hit it again.
If you’ve got an active Street Muscle wheelman, you’re no longer the one turning the ignition. While the wheelman is working, manual car theft from this page is disabled. Cards look fine, but the Go For It! buttons are dimmed and unclickable. Your guy is handling the runs; if you want the wheel back in your own hands, you deal with that in the Street Muscle section by cutting the wheelman loose.
At the bottom of the page, when you don’t have a wheelman on the payroll, you’ll see a little reminder pointing you toward Street Muscle. That’s the game nudging you: “Hey, you can let someone else risk their neck while you focus on other business.”
FAQ
What does the percentage mean?
It’s your success chance for that specific car job.
Why does one card glow?
It’s the best chance available at the moment. A suggestion, not a rule.
What happens when I click Go For It!?
You attempt the theft, and the game decides the outcome immediately.
Why are all cards greyed out?
You’re on cooldown, restricted, or you have an active wheelman doing the jobs.
What is car theft cooldown?
A mandatory timeout after a job. Too much attention on the streets.
Why can’t I steal with a wheelman active?
He’s doing the dirty work for you. Fire him in Street Muscle if you want control back.
Do all car jobs share the same cooldown?
Yep. One attempt locks the whole category until the timer ends.
Do I need to pick the highest chance?
No. Wise move? Sure. Mandatory? Not at all. Risk makes the racket fun.
Why do I see tips about hiring a wheelman?
If you don’t have one, the game nudges you, because outsourcing danger is part of the business. But be aware getting the job done yourself gives you more benefits.
